Happy Halloween!

On Halloween we have a Fondue party at Joe's parents house. Everyone comes dressed up and then we take the little ones (and not so little ones..hehe) trick or treating after we eat.

Everyone
(-Phil and Libby)Everyone again...
Padme, Anakin, Yoda, Sailor, Snow White, Little Snow White, Prince Charming, Nerd Boy
Zoro, and Safari Girl (I think? I don't remember)

Me and Joe
(I took this is from Joes brothers blog! Thanks for taking a picture of us!)

Ella loved trick or treating and wasn't shy about it at all. She would go up to the door and go right for the candy!
I didn't get many pictures because it got dark pretty quick and it was raining!

Fall Leaves

This morning Ella and I went for a walk. Libby told me that there was a nice trail. You can either go to the park or make a loop around the neighborhood. So we just did the loop today, the park is huge and Ella would never want leave! If I can walk tomorrow.... (I am so sore already, I haven't gone on a walk since we moved here...and I might not look very pregnant, but my hips sure feel it!!).... I found some fun places to take pictures in the pretty fall leaves. When we got home I took some pictures of Ella in the leaves around the yard. The yard looks so pretty will all the leaves everywhere! So here are a few of my favorite!
(Hopefully Ella will eventually smile at the camera! ha)

When Joe got home he raked up a big pile of leaves for Ella to play in.
She LOVED it!

More Halloween Fun and Other Stuff

Ella got a letter in the mail today! She got a cute kitty Halloween card from her Great Grandma Ida! She was really excited about it!
(we made a card for you grandma but it's still sitting on the counter so it might be a little late!)
Tonight was the first night we haven't had other plans so we decided we should carve our pumpkins!
Our Pumpkins Before Carving...

Ella just woke up from a nap and wasn't quite sure what was going on!

Today Ella and I worked on our sugar cookies, we made the dough yesterday and so today we rolled them out and cut out shapes. I haven't baked them yet, its too hot to turn on the oven! But then tonight we will decorate when Daddy gets home (if i get them baked in time!)
Helping cut out the cookies
She loved the flour!
I made new long curtains for the kitchen, but now I need a new valance and maybe take down the border stuff, although that looks like a lot of work!..but this is what it looks like so far!

Little Lamb

I finally found the pictures of Ella from the zoo. On the card they gave us it said she would be in group D. I found these in group C! Anyway they are found now and these are my favorites!
This is the look she gives anyone that talks to her that she doesn't know!

Draper Town Haunted Hallow

Tonight we took Ella to the town Haunted Hallow. They had trick or treating and games and food and all sorts of fun stuff! I only got a few pictures before it got too dark..

Boo at the Zoo

We took Ella to Boo at the Zoo this morning, I think every other family in Utah was also there! It was soo packed! But we still had lots of fun and got some fun pictures. Ella loved the trick or treating. She would actually say trick or treat to the people handing out candy! She loved the big kitties (lions) and the birds (penguins) oh and the monkeys which I'm surprised she liked because she watched king kong at her Grandmas the other day! We got her pictures taken at one of the little booths they had so i'm really excited to see how they turned out because they all looked really cute and she actually sat for a few min for the lady!

Ella all ready to go!
(We decided to use one of the handme down farm costumes we got from her cousins instead of her princess dress) Cute Sheep!

All Things Halloween!

This post is for Melvina...

The new welcome mat and hay baleHanging Pumpkins
Buckets of veggies
I wanted some picture frames to put up some Halloween pictures,
I made these from cardboard until I can get some real ones!
I also wanted a spooky Halloween tree, but I really didn't want to pay the $30 for one! So Ella and I went out hunting in the yard for some twigs. We found a few and then hooked them together with electrical tape and then spray painted it black, I think it turned out pretty cute!

Heres Ella in one of her cute Halloween outfits,
she was really sad about something!

Just some random Ella stuff....

I've been really bad about keeping a baby book for Ella, so I decided to just write down some of the funny things she does here so I can always transfer them later...

*This morning I was getting Ella's breakfast ready for her and I found a pear in our fruit bowl that really needed eaten, So I cut it up for her and while she was eating it I said, Ella these are pears, yum, can you say pear? She put everything down on her tray and folder her arms and bowed her head! I guess pear and prayer do sound alike!

*The other day we were playing in the living room and Ella found her sunglasses. She put them on and got her little play keys, gave me a hug and said bye bye, and then ran around the house yelling daaaayeee (thats how she says daddy). I guess she was off to get him from work!

Mommys Little Helper

Ella and I decided Banana Muffins sounded really good today!
She was such a good helper, and loved putting all the ingredients into the mixing bowl..
Here she is smashing the bananas and putting them in

First time seeing the mixer going, she was a bit unsure!

Cracking the egg, well trying anyway
Getting the butter ready to put in the microwave to melt

Greasing the pumpkin shaped tins
I think this was her least favorite things to do, she wanted to wash her hands right after she
was done, she does not like icky stuff on her fingers!

Adding the flour mixture to the banana mixtureI love this picture of her peeking in the bowl. At first she was a little nervous of the mixer, It mixes really fast and is kinda noisy!

She even wanted to help with the dishes! I think at this point she thought she would wash her face with the dish sponge, yum!
I left Ella "washing the dishes" while I ran to switch the laundry. I heard her say uh oh, when I came back in she was scrubbing the floor with my dish sponge! I guess she dropped it and thought the floor looked messy! (which it was! covered in flour from my little helper!)
Baking is hard work!

The finished muffins! They are sooo good,
I've never made them with the yummy crumble topping!
(so they are a weird shape because I made them in pumpkin shaped cupcake tins,
but the pumpkin face didnt show up, and the crumble stuff was on the wrong side anyway, ha)

Heres the recipe
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 bananas, mashed
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/3 cup butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon butter
* Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Lightly grease 10 muffin cups, or line with muffin papers.

*In a large bowl, mix together 1 1/2 cups flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt.

*In another bowl, beat together bananas, sugar, egg and melted butter. Stir the banana mixture into the flour mixture just until moistened. Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups.

*In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, 2 tablespoons flour and cinnamon. Cut in 1 tablespoon butter until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal. Sprinkle topping over muffins.

*Bake in preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes, until a toothpick inserted into center of a muffin comes out clean.
